Description

Fancy costume jewellery made of mother-of-pearl with a horse racing motif from the1930s.
The oval, polished mother-of-pearl plate is made from a piece of shell and has a beautiful iridescent pearl sheen. On it is a detailed bronze jockey riding a galloping racehorse.
On the reverse you can see how the rider and the pin are attached to the mother-of-pearl shell by simple means. The pin has a simple hook fastening.
The mother-of-pearl has a fine hairline crack above the jockey's head, but this runs to about 8 mm and poses no danger to the stability of the piece of jewellery.
