Characteristic Art Nouveau brooch in silver (stamped 900 DEPOSE and various maker's marks) with enamel and garnet by Hermann & Speck, Pforzheim from around 1900.
The brooch in the classic fan shape of Art Nouveau is decorated with turquoise pit enamel. The free silver elements show a fine leaf decoration in the centre of which an oval, wonderfully wine-red shimmering garnet cabochon is set. The characteristic suspension with an identical stone completes the harmonious appearance of the brooch.
The pin has a safety clasp that was added later.
