Round pendant of gold plated silver (stamped STERLING 925S and uninterpreted maker's mark) with black enamel and mother-of-pearl from around 1910. Probably of Norwegian origin.
The large amulet has the shape of an open worked blossom. It is filled with shiny black enamel, to which the gold-coloured edges of the petals form an elegant contrast. In the centre of the pendant is a bead of silver-white enamel.
This kind of jewellery was originally worn on long chains around the neck at belly level. However, the pendant also looks very beautiful on a black brocade cord.
