Silver shield shaped brooch (stamped 800) with Ural lapis lazuli from the art nouveau period around 1900.
The broad oval silver front is stamped with bulging shapes in the outer rim from the back. The central part is hammered and decorated with a dark blue lapis lazuli cabochon from the Ural Mountains with white quartzite inclusions. The stone sits in a smooth ribbon setting, around which a pearl bar is wound.
The pin has a simple hook closure.
Such decorative brooches were very popular at the turn of the century, worn centrally below the then modern stand-up collars.
