Scottish shield brooch in silver (unstamped, tested) with agates and citrine coloured crystal glass from around 1870.
The large round brooch in the shape of a blossom is finely chased with foliage
ornaments and decorated ribbons. In between are alternating three rust red jasper plates and three grey and white banded agates. In the centre of the shield is a round opening with a raised crown. Set into this is a round faceted crystal glass stone the colour of whisky. The handmade pin is worked closed from the back and has a simple hook clasp.
