Description
Historicising silver brooch (stamped 830S and maker's mark) in Viking style from the Magnus Asse workshop, Norway from around 1900.
The large, round shield brooch is open worked. It is decorated with a Nordic design in the early medieval borre or griffin style of entwined animals, mythical creatures and knot ornaments.
The pin is secured with a simple hook clasp.
