Description

Finger hats were part of every lady's outfit. This enchanting example from the Pforzheim silverware factory Lutz & Weiß is refined with a Dutch landscape idyll in enamel.

Silver thimble (stamped 925, maker's mark Lutz & Weiß and 6) with enamel and glass head from the silver jewellery factory Lutz & Weiß, Pforzheim circa 1910/20.
The cup-shaped thimble has a wide silver rim. Its centre is decorated with white transparent enamel on a guilloche ground painted with a Dutch landscape of trees, windmill and houses in royal blue. The "tip" of the hat is inset with white opaque glass with typical thimble dimples.
