At the turn of the century, such decorative brooches were often worn in the centre below the stand-up collar. Today they look particularly decorative on the lapel of a dark jacket due to the openwork pattern.
Elegant silver brooch (stamped 800 and uninterpreted designer mark GB) with anemones from the early Art Nouveau period around 1890.
The effective handwork consists of a wide, oval-curved silver frame with a pearl bar rim in the open centre of which four chased anemone flowers are set. Two heart-shaped spirals of notched silver ribbon enclose the motif.
The pin has a simple hook clasp.
