Handmade pendant in gold-plated silver (stamped 900) with smoky quartz from the 1920s.
The large, clear smoky quartz of good quality is cut in the classic emerald cut with numerous facets. It is framed by an elaborate gallery setting in typical Art Deco decor. The straight Art Déco shapes of the outer frame are imaginatively filled with floral and tendril ornaments with spheres and wave shapes. Even the side gallery is decorated with spiral patterns. The openwork setting catches the light well and sets off the gemstone brilliantly.
