Oval silver brooch (stamped 830S and unknown maker mark) with green pate de verre from the art nouveau period around 1900. Beautiful handmade piece by an unknown designer.
The front made of silver chased from the back is decorated with even surfaces with ornaments of hemispheres, pearl-stick pattern and hammered structures. The centre is decorated by an oblong oval cabochon made of fir green glass paste.
The back of the needle is embroidered and has a simple hook closure.
Such decorative brooches were very popular at the turn of the century, worn centrally below the then modern stand-up collars.
