Description
Large oval silver brooch with dark blue Deutschlapis from the Art Nouveau period around 1900.
The front of silver chased from behind (stamped 800) is richly decorated with rose petals, leaves and fruits, which wind themselves wreath-shaped around an elongated oval Deutschlapis cabochon. The elaborate bouquet is topped off with a large bow.
The back of the pin is verbödet and has a simple hook closure.
Such decorative brooches were very popular at the turn of the century worn centrally below the then modern stand-up collars.
