Handmade Art Deco clasp in silver (stamped 925 and maker's mark) with inlaid buffalo horn. Made in the William R. Elfers New York manufactory in the 1920s.
The shiny silver surface of the teardrop-shaped clip slopes outwards in steps over three levels. A narrow strip of smoothly polished, almost black buffalo horn is inlaid in the centre.
On the back is a sturdy clip that sits tightly on the cloth.
This unusual piece of jewellery is versatile. It can be worn as a tie clip, scarf clip or even as a lapel clip.
