Description
Pretty brass lapel pin with millefiori mosaic from around 1880.
The round head of the long pin is surrounded by a pearl bar wreath. The centre is adorned with a colourful micromosaic with floral motifs made of small glass stones.
Such colourful mosaics were made in Italian workshops in the ancient tradition with tiny glass particles. They were popular souvenirs for travellers to Italy until the end of the 19th century. The small pin is an original statement that can be worn as a scarf-, lapel- or tie pin.
