Oval shield brooch in silver (stamped 800) with large leaf green jade stone and shamrock motifs from around 1900.
The finely sawn needlework of the harmonious Art Nouveau vine design is set with eight chased shamrocks. In the center, a large jade disc sits in a wide bezel setting surrounded by cord wire. The long pin is secured with a classic hook clasp.
This type of brooch was very popular around the turn of the century to wear on the then modern stand-up collar of dresses.
