Description
Fine silver brooch (unstamped, tested) with large lavender amethyst from the Art Nouveau period around 1900.
The oval, outwardly curved silver plate of the brooch is framed by an egg bar rim. The shiny silver surface is finely hammered so that the reflection is broken. A large, delicate purple oval-cut amethyst is emblazoned centrally on the shield in a smooth bezel setting.
The brooch has been renewed with a safety ball clasp and a hidden loop additionally allows the pretty accessory to be worn as a pendant.
