Description

Medallions have been used for centuries to hold pictures or other small mementos. Especially in the Art Nouveau period, this type of jewellery was again very popular and widespread. Especially the jewellery industry in Pforzheim produced a great variety of models of such amulets in gold doubles.

Round medallion in a light red gold tone made of gold doublé with garnet coloured rhinestones from around 1900.
Two abstract flowers are engraved in the matt gold front of the pendant. Their blossoms are set with wine-red glass stones.
The back of the locket is smooth.
The amulet is openable. Inside, the original frames contain two coloured photographs from around 1900, which can easily be replaced by small pictures. (Diameter 2 cm).
