Unusual silver ring (stamped 830 S and uninterpreted maker's mark) with hematite in typical 1920s Art Deco.
The long ring head is set with a rectangular hematite. The anthracite shimmering stone has a plano-convex shape over whose curved surface fine rectangular steps are cut. This special cut gives the stone an extraordinary play of light reflections. Four wide lobes of three stripes each hold the hematite in a straight gallery setting. The narrow ring shoulders are engraved with scroll ornaments and extend far over the ring rail.
